And recently surfaced YouTube videos showed that Rodriguez has been comfortable saying the N-word for years now as she hurled the term at a co-star in a since-deleted clip.
The actress used the word during a scene with two Black actors which was reportedly filmed seven years ago and unearthed just days after she sang the word on her Instagram stories, causing an incredible amount of backlash online.

'Take a lap n****,' she yelled at one of the actors in the short clip. 'Take a lap.'
Gina was sporting a sundress and dark brown hair in the video, which appeared to be outside of a school campus.
The Golden Globe winner sparked out rage after posting a video of herself sitting in a makeup chair and singing Lauryn Hill's verses on Ready or Not by the Fugees when the racial epitaph easily flew out of her mouth.
Rodriguez deleted the video from her account and later posted an awkward apology where she claimed that she had been singing the song for years and that she loves Lauryn Hill.
'Hey, what’s up everybody — I just wanted to reach out and apologize,' she said in a short clip on her Instagram stories. 'I am sorry. I am sorry if I offended anyone by singing along to the Fugees, to a song that I love, that I grew up on. 'I love Lauryn Hill. And I really am sorry if I offended you.'
After being criticized for her initial apology, the Jane The Virgin star took to her Instagram feed to share a text post that explained how 'thoughtless' she had been.
'In song or in real life, the words that I spoke, should not have been spoken,' the Chicago native wrote.
She went on: 'I grew up loving the Fugees and Lauryn Hill. I thoughtlessly sang along to the lyrics of a favorite song, and even worse, I posted it. The word I sang, carries with it a legacy of hurt and pain that I cannot even imagine.'
